Are you known for your practicality and versatility ? We have an opportunity for you! We're currently looking for a Journeyman Plumber to join our team at the Amos Detention Center for a day shift (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), including a shift rotation.

The incumbent of the position in the av-tech division maintains and repairs various electrical and mechanical building systems.

What will your role be on our team?

• Carry out various tasks related to checking, repairing, maintaining and cleaning plumbing and heating systems, piping, burners, automatic sprinklers, refrigeration and air conditioning;
• Maintain and repair water, steam, gas, fuel and chemical piping systems used for heating, cooling, lubrication and other industrial processes;
• Read plans, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of piping, water supply, sewage and drainage systems;
• Clean and maintain pipes, fittings and drainage systems;
• Join pipes with fittings, clamps, screws, bolts, gluing, brazing or welding equipment;
• Check pipes for leaks using pressure gauges;
• Troubleshoot and solve problems;
• Any other task related to the job.

What we're looking for in our new colleague :

• DEP in plumbing and heating;
• Possibility of being paid CCQ or HCCQ, depending on your preference;
• Carte de compétence de la Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) or Carte d'Emploi-Québec en tant que compagnon tuyauteur/plombier (mandatory);
• 5 years' experience in similar preventive and general corrective maintenance tasks in institutional or commercial buildings;
• Dexterity, precision and attention to detail;
• Ability to work in a team and with the public;
• Sense of priorities and organization;
• No criminal record related to the job.
