Since joining globatech, Tania Laserra has embodied rigor, versatility and collaboration. Today, as administrative coordinator at av-tech, she plays a key role in the company's digital transition, while fostering a strong team spirit.
Tania began her career as a receptionist at the Louis-H. La Fontaine office, working for av-tech and logic-contrôle. Quickly spotted for her reliability and adaptability, she was promoted to department clerk and then administrative assistant.
As the company grew and teams were reorganized, she climbed the ranks one by one: supervisor, then administrative coordinator. Each of these steps was marked by a constant evolution in her responsibilities.
Her career path: receptionist → clerk → administrative assistant → supervisor → administrative coordinator
At the heart of her current responsibilities, the Vision 4.1 project aims to standardize working methods and support av-tech's digital transformation. With her collaborative and rigorous approach, Tania coordinates the implementation of digital tools that are tested in the field before being rolled out on a large scale.
Each feature is reviewed in depth to ensure that it corresponds to the reality of the teams' work, while breaking down silos between departments.
Working alongside Arnaud on the implementation of NetSuite and Shepherd was a turning point in his professional development. This project enabled him to discover the interactions between different departments, and to better understand the company's technological structure, beyond his usual tasks.
"With this project, I understood what was going on behind the scenes. I now have a much more global view of the organization."
What has motivated Tania all these years is the work atmosphere. Collaboration, respect, everyday jokes - everything contributes to creating a healthy and stimulating environment.
She also emphasizes the trust placed in her by managers, particularly Sylvain Maillé, who has always encouraged her to take the initiative and propose new ideas to improve internal tools and processes.
I remember that, in my early years with av-tech and logic-contrôle, I was called upon to help prepare responses to major calls for tender. It was quite a challenge, as I had neither the experience nor the knowledge required at the time.
Preparing such important documents, evaluated on presentation, rigorous compliance with precise requirements, descriptions of relevant experience proving our ability to carry out the work... for calls for tenders worth several hundred thousand dollars, is pretty impressive. We're talking here about clients like Hydro-Québec, Complexe Desjardins, CISSS/CIUSSS, universities, Parliament, or even embassies. Some tender documents were between 200 and 300 pages long: terms and conditions, technical descriptions, restrictions, insurance and bonding requirements, addendums... At first, I was at a loss.
But I rose to the challenge. With our team, we won several major tenders. I contributed by preparing the accompanying documentation, transcribing the prices, participating in the bidding strategies, correcting texts and calculations, and putting everything on the page.
I learned a lot from this opportunity. As much about the legal aspects, required documentation and preparation tools, as about myself and the power of teamwork.
Today, I can say that I'm comfortable and ready to take on this type of challenge, even under pressure and despite the sometimes very tight deadlines. I've learned to go beyond my limits and get out of my comfort zone - and that's what's made me grow.
While some tasks, such as invoicing or payroll, may seem routine, it's the variety and unexpectedness of daily life that makes her job so stimulating. Supporting projects, taking calls, training new recruits, managing emergencies: no two days are alike.
“The fact that I get to touch a little bit of everything, that I get to have a concrete impact, that's what makes all the difference.”
For Tania, globatech stands out for its human vision of leadership and its multidisciplinary structure. From building mechanics to electronics, IT and access systems, the company relies on complementary expertise.
It also has fond memories of Mr. Shooner, the group's founder, whose closeness and respect for employees have left their mark on the company's culture.
According to Tania, globatech's future lies in innovation, continuous improvement... and expansion. With products like Parknet and recognized expertise in Quebec, the company is well positioned to conquer new markets.
But evolution isn't just about products. It's also about personal growth. Projects like Vision 4.1 enable Tania to develop technical and strategic skills, and to gain a better understanding of the organization as a whole.
